ZEKE BOONE

It may be that at one time Boone was a family dog with a love of trash, but that’s only legend. He and Jocko have been running on the wild side of life, sometimes parallel to Michael’s own, in his songs, paintings and graphic novels since childhood. Boone and Jocko come with their own crew and chasers, of course—Uncle Gaspard, Gus Frasgus, Mama Molasses, and Peyote Pete to name a few among many. Dogs with a penchant for homemade wine, music and ladies (canine or not), they prefer to wear regulation width stripes and are know to hitch round the country and hop trains, taking hallucinogens and encountering evangelicals.

The amazing Drew Christie has brought Boone to the film from the pages of Michael’s graphic novels—Heartbreak Hotel and Prayer, The Honking Duck Marina, Uncle Gaspard Joins the Bograt Navy, Uncle Gaspard 8 Track Sidetrack and Boone & Jocko in Jesus Saves. Boone and Jocko also make frequent appearances in Michael’s songs, from “Code of the Mountains” to the raunchy live hit  “Boone & Jocko.”
