LOUDON WAINWRIGHT Musician

Loudon Snowden Wainwright III is a delightfully silly man. He’s in that enviable position of being a talent in multiple directions, and quite likely a few more unexplored. His place just on the inside of the periphery and in a parallel realm to Michael’s own gives him a poignant perspective. Living in the NYC scene of the 60’s folk, macrobiotic, and experimental culture, he generated numerous albums that have brought several generations of enthusiasts great joy. His "Swimming Song" was included on Vetiver’s Things of the Past along with a track from Michael. Always involved in acting as well, he has more recently been at the direction of Judd Apatow. Loudon has not stopped for a minute it seems. He played us a series of songs he had written recently and took us around his vegetable garden, while expanding on his connections to Michael and his awe at the young crowds he draws, and joking about his many talented kids including Martha and Rufus Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche.
