MARJORIE STARK "Pasta"

Marjorie is a truly welcoming being. Her wonderful, snack ready, auntie feeling home was open to us along with her kind intentions—no surprise to find out that she’s been doing social work and counseling for some time. The creative spirit within is clear and still shines, though she has long since shifted her focus away from the era in which she was sandal maker and folk singer. She accompanied Michael in a duet on the track “Open Up” for his 1971 album Armchair Boogie, as well as in his adventures around New York, the Pennsylvania Cook Camp, deep Mexico and Massachusetts for the years of their marriage and the birth of their three children. Marjorie was dubbed Pasta by Michael, who was by then calling himself Snock. She now makes her home in the New York City kingdom, where we visited just after her garden had come into bloom.
